Week 94: October 13th-19th, 2024

The silver lining of having overlapping leases is that I can move in slowly. So, despite having to pay double rent for about a month, I feel much more relaxed now that I have a new place. My new apartment is in the Rio Vista neighborhood in Mission Valley, and is right across the street from a shopping center with many options. Some notable stores are Ross, TJ Maxx, and Home Goods, which will definitely come in handy for affordable decor finds during the move! There are also a bunch of restaurants, so this week, I decided to try one.

After a long, sweaty day of moving and cleaning, I took a break to get some early Thai food for dinner. Ka Prao Thai is in that same shopping center, right next to Mission Valley Breakfast Company and a promising looking poke shop.

Tons of options, as you can see!

I was actually able to place my order online ahead of time, so when I got there, it was ready (and still warm!) for pick up. There were a lot of people in the restaurant waiting for to-go orders, so I felt a little bad waltzing in and immediately getting my order, but hey, order ahead next time!

The walk back to my new apartment only took about 5 minutes, and would've been shorter if I hadn't stopped to admire a tiny dachshund puppy in some lady's arms outside of Party City.

Sorry for the bad photo, but it was good!

I got Pad See Ew, per usual, with veggies. It was pretty good, and I'm excited to eat the other half for leftovers tomorrow. I enjoyed my meal in my camping chair on my new balcony. I liked watching the cars pass by below and can't wait to get some real balcony furniture so I don't look like I have the interior design choices of a college frat guy.

I still need to sweep the balcony!

See you next week!
