Week 21: Ulta Beauty

Week 21: May 21-27th, 2023

During weeks where I have low energy, the bar being low for doing something new comes in handy. This week was one of those low energy weeks, but hey, I still managed to go to a new Ulta Beauty location. This location is in a little shopping center called Loma Square in the Midway District near Point Loma. I'm not sure why but I like venturing to other locations of familiar stores. I'm sure you all remember the multiple Targets I've explored.

A bonus to this little errand was that I got the birthday month freebie that Ulta offers to its rewards members. This month was a mini version of Bumble and Bumble Bb Hairdresser's Primer for heat/UV protection. I definitely will try this out and see if I like it better than the CHI one I've been using.

It was surprisingly sunny in the Midway District during my Ulta errand, which was nice. The weather has been really gloomy, humid, and cloudy recently. Apparently this "marine layer" is going to continue looming over San Diego into next week (I religiously check multiple different news sources for weather updates, this one was from Deep Marine Layer Expected Over SD County Through Next Week (msn.com)).

Aside from the birthday freebie, I also got some more items, including some lip oil and probiotics. I loved the little pink bag they gave me (even though I said I didn't need one...), because it was a cute change from the classic Ulta orange.

Honestly, I got everything for a steal. I had a $10 off $40 coupon from using the Ulta App, 2x rewards points during my birthday month, and also redeemed $30 worth of rewards points that were about to expire. My total would've been around $60, and it ended up only being around $20. You all know I love a good use of coupons, so even though this week's Something New wasn't groundbreaking, this felt like a major win for the week.

Sorry that this week isn't as exciting or detailed as some past weeks. I felt very sluggish (probably due to the grey weather) and was not all that inspired to research any fun new restaurants or locations. Hopefully next week will be a bit more intriguing.
